• GRRAND-F Trial

Welcome to the GRRAND-F Trial website. This website is designed for patients who are interested in being part of the GRRAND-F trial. It also provides important information for physiotherapists and health professionals who are involved in the study.

The GRRAND-F Trial is looking to see whether it is feasible to recruit and deliver a physiotherapy intervention to patients follow neck dissection surgery for head and neck cancer. The study is funded by the NHS’s National Institute for Health Research.

This small study will help us to plan a larger study that will aim to investigate better physiotherapy treatments for people who have had this surgery. In the GRRAND-F study all patients who have a neck dissection will receive normal (usual) NHS care including inpatient physiotherapy after their operation. However, half of those that agree to take part will receive 6 sessions of face-to-face or video consultation physiotherapy as an outpatient in addition to the usual inpatient NHS care. These physiotherapy sessions have been specifically designed for patients who have had a neck dissection.

We aim to recruit 60 men and women within the UK who are due to undergo a neck dissection surgery. To see which hospitals are collaborating on GRRAND-F, please visit our page on sites.

We hope that you find the information you are looking for here on the website. If you have any questions or comments, please get in touch with the GRRAND-F Team using the online form or by using the contact details at the bottom of this page.
